Project Description

Galaxy, 1995
Ink Painting, 28.5″ x 21″
Collection of the Artist

“In this painting I discovered a new way of using the inks. I covered the wet surface with plastic and then manipulated the folds in the plastic and cut into the folds towards the center of the painting and poured ink into the cut. The ink went out towards the boundaries of the circle with a totally different effect with which I was very happy.

I wanted this planet to be filled with movement and activity, yet unified. Change is always happening and there is no such thing as not moving. Not to move is not to grow – there can be no going back – but not to grow is to die”.
