Indian Country II – Bounteous Medicine, 1992
Ink Painting 21″ x 28.5″
Collection of the Artist
There are different levels of terrain with shoots coming up and it is somewhat more of a desert land, hot, yellow, but with water running in, water which was taken away from the Indians with the building of three cities upstream which cut off the water supply to the reservation. The Native Americans with whom the artist lived, an agricultural people needing to be able to irrigate, still suffer the loss of their river and water supply today and because of this shameful injustice against them, their dignity has been destroyed.
