Let there be light – Days of Creation, 1993
Ink Painting – 21” x 21”
Collection of the Artist
In 1993, for the second time, Ken Chapman painted “The Days of Creation”. Four of paintings of the series are included in this catalogue.
“In the first day of creation I have a very subtle yellow-gold around the darker center circle. In the centre there are some deep reds. But how does God create light when he has not yet created the sun, the moon and the planets? For me Genesis must mean the creation, on the first day, of enlightenment and that God is the light of the world and the source of all light and light-someness”.
