The Edmund Rice Christian Brothers Art Foundation, in collaboration with the Office of Educational Services, is announcing a Student Art Project that will culminate in an electronic presentation to the School Leaders in New Rochelle, April 8 – 11, 2019, as well as an on-line gallery exhibit of featured student artists from the participating schools. The gallery will be hosted at www.cbartfoundation.org.
The focus is visual art – painting, drawing, sculpture, that can be appropriately presented in still pictures. Knowing the initial audience will be School Leaders in Edmund Rice Schools suggests a theme of Edmund Rice and the Essential Elements of an Edmund Rice Christian Brother Education; however, the freedom of artistic choice is left to the individuals involved.
For each student nominated we will request electronic versions of:
1. Student name, grade level, school
2. A brief autobiographical paragraph expressing the student’s art interests
3. A photo of the artist.
4. A high quality photograph of each of two works of the student, listing: title, size, and medium (e.g. acrylic on canvas, ink on parchment,…) and a brief statement of the intention and/or experience of the artist in creating this work.
The window for posting submissions will be Friday, February 1 to Friday, March 1, 2019.
